XL4015 Constant Voltage Current Step Down Buck Converter Module DC-DC 5V-32V to 0.8V-30V 5A adjust Lithium Battery Charger Board.

A versatile step-down converter that can operate as a power module, a constant-current / constant-voltage lithium battery charger, or a high-power LED constant-current driver. Used in the Crawler One Tank Robot Kit to step the 7.4 V battery rail down to 5 V for the Pi and accessories. Compatible with the entire Crawler series.

Features

  • Common step-down module with overcurrent protection capability
  • Can be used as a battery and battery charger
  • High-power LED constant-current drive module
  • Two modes — constant current and constant voltage — with an onboard indicator LED showing the current mode
  • Lithium-battery charger mode: floating charge voltage and charge current are both adjustable; indicator LED shows charging vs. fully charged
  • Current-limiting protection — the module will not be damaged even if the output is short-circuited
  • Usage notes
  • As a step-down module: power on, regulate the voltage trim pot to the target output voltage. Measure short-circuit current with a multimeter on the 10 A range and adjust the current trim pot to set the overcurrent threshold. When the load reaches that current, the red CC indicator lights up. Note: a 0–0.3 V drop across the 0.05 Ω sense resistor at the output is normal and not caused by your load.
  • As a lithium-battery charger: determine the floating-charge voltage and charge current for your pack (e.g. 3.7 V/2200 mAh cell → 4.2 V float, 1 A charge). With no load, set the output voltage to the float voltage, then set the short-circuit current to the charge current with the multimeter. Charging starts in constant-current mode and automatically switches to constant-voltage as the cell fills. The full-charge indicator illuminates when current drops below ~10 % of the set value. Connect the battery only after the trim pots are set.
  • As a high-power LED driver: determine the LED's operating voltage and current. With no load, set the output voltage to the LED's working voltage, then set the short-circuit current to the LED's working current. Connect the LED last.
