Kids Walker is a two-wheeled self-balancing robot — think Segway, kid-scale. It stands upright on two wheels, holds its own balance with an onboard IMU and a real-time control loop, and drives smoothly forward, backward and around corners. A real Raspberry Pi runs the show, so the RobotiMaker AI agent can steer, patrol, film and react on the fly. Designed for makers age 12 and up.
Choose your kit:
• Chassis Kit — All frame parts: printed chassis halves, wheel hubs, motor mounts, Pi and driver-board plates, hardware. No electronics. Bring your own Pi, motors, IMU and battery. Intermediate · soldering required.
• Builder Kit — Chassis Kit plus 2× high-torque encoded gearmotors, 6-axis IMU with onboard filtering, motor driver board, power module, illuminated master switch, wiring harness and calibration jig. Drop in any Raspberry Pi (Zero 2 W, 3, 4 or 5) and it stands up. Intermediate · soldering required.
• Complete Kit — Same as Builder, but we do the soldering, the Pi setup, and the balance tune for you. Open the box, snap the wheels on, scan the QR code, and it's already balancing. Beginner · no tools needed.
How the balancing works:
• 6-axis IMU (accelerometer + gyroscope) reads the tilt angle 200 times a second
• Real-time PID loop drives the wheels to keep the chassis vertical
• Encoders on both motors close the loop for straight-line tracking
• Recovers from a nudge — push it, it wobbles once and stays up
• Adjustable gains from the RobotiMaker dashboard — no code needed

• Tilt to steer, or use an on-screen joystick or d-pad

• Soldering iron, multimeter, hex keys (Chassis & Builder kits only)
• 2S or 3S Li-ion battery pack with XT30 (standard hobby-store item)
• microSD card (16 GB+) for the Pi
• Raspberry Pi (only for Chassis Kit — included in Builder and Complete)

• Chassis & Builder Kits: ~2–3 hours assembly plus 15 min balance calibration
• Complete Kit: ~10 minutes unboxing, then it stands
